It is a legal requirement since 1st October 2008 for all Landlords to provide an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which indicates the thermal efficiency of the property. Once obtained the certificate lasts for ten years and allows prospective tenants to compare properties in relation to energy performance. The certificate also shows how to make the property more energy efficient and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
